Gary has been photographing for over 27 years. He has spent time developing his own technique and creativity. Gary's belief is that every image/picture has a worth to someone, whether it's an image of Aunt Jane or Mount Rushmore. First and foremost, a photographer has to please themselves with an image/picture, no matter if it is done with a Polaroid or a 8 X 10 view camera. For cameras are only tools, a simple means to an end. What maybe a technically perfect image/picture to one, maybe a thrash bin image/picture to another. Gary tries to bring to life in his work, the uniqueness of that image/picture whether it be still life or a studio effect. When you see something, you see the image in your mind eye first, something has drawn you to this. It is the photographers task to capture this on film, whether it be emulsion based or digital. Gary in his work tries to capture the depth, the lighting, the texture, and the different aspects of that image which might go unseen upon first sight.
